I went bowhunting recently and had a great time. In the morning hunt, I saw the same 3 does twice, but they never came within bow range. I also saw a wild pig that was in bow range, but I was day dreaming and did not have my bow ready.
In the afternoon, I found a deer trail leading to a small pond. I sat for several hours about 20 yards away in decent cover. I saw 2 coyotes pass by and, later, I let 2 fawn does go by. About 30 minutes after the fawns came by, another older doe came down to the pond. As I started drawing back on the bow, she jerked her head up stared in my direction for about 5 seconds, then took off running. Better luck next time.
